米アップルが自動運転車プロジェクトでの提携の可能性を巡り 日産自動車にアプローチし、最近数カ月間にわたり話し合っていたが、現時点ではもはや協議は行われていないと英紙フィナンシャル・タイムズ（ＦＴ）が報じた。事情に詳しい関係者の話を引用したが、関係者の氏名は明示していない。
電気自動車のブランド戦略で両社間に相違があり、話し合いは一時的で、上級経営陣のレベルにまで進まなかったという。
アップルはＦＴへのコメントを控えた。日産のアシュワニ・グプタ最高執行責任者（ＣＯＯ）はＦＴに対して、同社はアップルとは現時点で協議していないと述べた。
この報道を受け、日産の株価は15日の取引で一時4.3％安となった。
